About Me
I wasn’t always the best with my money.
Throughout college, I worked three jobs and still somehow managed to rack up credit card debt and student loans by the time I graduated from Boston College. I had the mentality that I would always make money to buy whatever I wanted.
I was fortunate enough to work at well-known companies throughout my early adulthood- most of my career was spent at Blackstone, a premier global investment firm. During my time in the office, I noticed that the women at work never talked about money so all of my “talking shop” of credit card tactics and savvy investments was done with my male cohorts.
I took a sabbatical from the corporate world in 2016 to spend time caring for my terminally ill mother, who recently passed away. I’ve learned that life will throw you a lot of curveballs and that, for most people, setbacks are inevitable. I have worked very hard over the years to take ownership of my personal finances through self-education and applying sound principles and approaches that have eliminated all of my debt and set up my money to start working for me.
I started HerEquity to share my financial knowledge and experiences with other women and to empower them on their own path to financial wellness. Women consistently underestimate their ability to manage finances - it has less to do with becoming an expert, but more with becoming more involved. I believe that money management is a fundamental skill that is far too important to overlook. It will feel uncomfortable but the approach is actually very simple, and one I hope to align with your values and your lifestyle.
It is never too early or too late to take control of your money.
Please allow me to join you on your journey.
